A day in the life of
Art Exhibition
Calling all New Zealand Sex Workers!
Do you paint, draw, dance, write, photograph, stitch, sculpt, weave, or do any other form of art and craft?
This exhibition (organised by sex workers), will give you and sex workers all over New Zealand the opportunity to represent yourselves using whatever art form chosen, to have this work showcased to the public.
The theme is “A day in the life of” and can be interpreted in several ways.
How you choose to represent your average day is up to you.
Will you explore positive, negative, or mundane aspects of your work? Or will you represent your life and experience outside of sex work? Is sex work an identity or just a job?
What would you like the public to know about you?

When: July 1st - 23rd
Where: FLUX at Wellington Museum

What you need to know:

The theme is "A day in the life of" - How you choose to represent your average day is up to you. Will you explore positive, negative, or mundane aspects of your work? Or will you represent your life and experience outside of sex work? Is sex work an identity or just a job? What would you like the public to know about you?

The Due Date for your entry form is
April 17th. -
The Due Date for when your work needs to be in Wellington is May 31st.
(This is to ensure all works are photographed and curated in a timely manner)

A maximum of 3 works is permitted per artist. This is to ensure there is enough room for all artworks. If you're artwok is LARGE please consider only entering 1 complete piece

To ensure there is enough room for all artworks, please limit canvases, frames and prints to a maximum of 1mx1.5m and sculptures to a max of 1m cubed.

For the entry form you'll need a brief description of your work, details of what medium you'll use to make it and the rough dimensions/size

Complete the SWoA Entry Form - available in either doc. or pdf. formats.

To enter the Sex Workers of Aotearoa Art Exhibition you must be a New Zealand based sex worker.

In the event that there is a shortage of artwork a notice will be sent out for further work.

In the event that there are too many works, and no room to display them all, we will notify you that your 3rd work may not be displayed.
